This privacy policy informs you which personal data Cloudwerks Technology GmbH (“Cloudwerks”, “we”) processes when you visit this website and when you contact us, for what purpose and on what legal basis – pursuant to Art. 13 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

The terms used (e.g. “personal data”, “processing”) correspond to the definitions in Art. 4 GDPR.

1. Server log files when visiting the website

When you access this website, the web server automatically processes data transmitted by your browser and stores it in server log files. This is based on our legitimate interest in a secure and stable operation of the website (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR). The following is logged:

• page or file accessed and time of access
• amount of data transferred and HTTP status code
• source/referrer from which you reached the website
• browser and operating system used
• IP address of the accessing device

Server log files are stored for a maximum of 7 days and then deleted. The data is stored for security reasons, e.g. to investigate cases of abuse. If data must be retained for evidentiary purposes, it is excluded from deletion until the incident has been finally resolved.

2. Fonts and icons

All fonts and icon fonts on this website are served from our own server. No connection is made to Google Fonts or other external font services; your IP address is not transmitted to third parties when fonts are loaded.

3. Contact form and contact by e-mail or phone

If you contact us via the contact form, by e-mail or by phone, we process your details to handle and answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (b) GDPR (pre-contractual measures at your request) or Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in answering enquiries).

The following data is collected via the contact form:

• name
• e-mail address
• selected topic (subject)
• your message

The form data is transmitted to our server encrypted (TLS), stored there and delivered to us by e-mail. The data is not passed on to third parties. To protect against abuse, the number of submissions per IP address is limited; the IP address is held only briefly in memory for this purpose.

4. Web analytics with Matomo – only with your consent

We use the open-source web analytics software Matomo, which we operate ourselves on our own server (metrics.cloudwerks.de). No data is transmitted to the Matomo vendor or any other third party.

Matomo is used only if you have given your consent via the notice banner (Art. 6 (1) (a) GDPR, § 25 (1) TDDDG). Without consent no analytics cookies are set and no usage data is collected. With consent, Matomo sets cookies (including “_pk_id”, stored for up to 13 months; “_pk_ses”, 30 minutes) to recognise returning visits and processes: pages viewed, time on page, referrer, browser and device type, screen resolution, approximate region of origin, and events such as clicks on contact buttons or the language switch.

The sole purpose is to understand which content is read in order to improve the website. Your decision is stored locally in your browser (“matomo_consent”) so the banner does not reappear on every visit.

Withdraw consent

You can withdraw your consent at any time with effect for the future. Click the button below; analytics stops immediately and the banner will appear again on your next visit.

5. External links

This website links to external services (e.g. quickselect.app, GitHub, LinkedIn, Instagram, Facebook, Google Play). When you click such a link you leave our website; the privacy policy of the respective provider applies there. We do not embed content from these providers (plugins, videos, fonts) directly in our pages.

6. Your rights

You have the right to obtain information about the data stored about you (Art. 15 GDPR), to rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and the right to withdraw consent at any time (Art. 7 (3)). You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority (Art. 77 GDPR); the authority responsible for us is the Landesbeauftragte für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Nordrhein-Westfalen.

7. Right to object

Where we process data on the basis of a legitimate interest (Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR), you may object to this processing at any time on grounds relating to your particular situation (Art. 21 GDPR).

8. Storage period

Server log files: 7 days. Contact enquiries: until the enquiry has been fully handled and thereafter as long as required to document the business initiation, at most 3 years after the last contact – unless a contract is concluded. We retain contract and invoice data in accordance with commercial and tax retention periods (6 or 10 years).

9. Data transfers to third countries

We do not transfer personal data collected via this website to countries outside the European Union or the European Economic Area.

10. Obligation to provide data

The provision of personal data is neither legally nor contractually required. Without your details in the contact form, however, we cannot answer your enquiry.

11. Changes

We update this privacy policy when the website or the legal situation changes. The version published here applies.
